Air Rejuven8
Do you feel these? Pretty trippy huh. The mesh are interchangeable and you can even customize the inner sock and lining.

the failed date
While spending the Sunday night alone at home, I switched on the tele and I saw this MTV. It flooded me with lots of memories.
Back in '98 (i remembered cos I was always playing KOF'98 with randy back then). When JC ended and I was slated to enter NS. I asked shuyi out to watch a movie.
We are not together then. Making it the first time I ever asked a girl out on a date. She agreed (she can reject anyone). I was elated. But the next day, she paged me (i think. paging was the shit back then. MemoJazz is the pinnacle of coolness) to inform me that she had to start work at Takashimaya selling the talking watches.
And this was the movie. 玻璃之城. It was supposed to be damn lomantik and have all the nice nostalgic vibes.
That failed date happened to be the 1st and last time I ever asked a girl (who was not my girlfriend) out on a movie date. And shuyi had to kill it!
We did watch the movie on VCD a year later.
But because of the story behind it, I shall always remember this sucky movie.

ah xuan's drinking session
We all went to T2 to pick up Shuyi. It was a spur of the moment thing (them tagging along).

I signaled my brother's car (who was ferrying my photog) to take the picture. Gilbert used it as the cover pict for the preview album.
slaying the dragon
Back in 08, I found this really old playground to take some of our wedding photos. The results were fantastic (at least we thought so).
But now they are going to slay the dragon! Do you really wanna do that? These playgrounds, though no so old as those temples and old shop houses, really mean something to the X gen people who grew up hanging out at these playgrounds.

Carine Roitfeld
In the states, they have Anna 'Nuclear' Wintour. In France, they have Carine Roitfeld.
All I can say is, if killing her gets you her job, she would be the most assassinated person in history... provided they all fail. Cos if not, the count would stop and em... yeah.
You understand.

roast pig ER
Man I love this picture. After the gatecrashing, we rushed back to my house. Everything was in a rush and my photog managed to capture this picture in the flurry of action.
i love that hair!

I grabbed her and dragged my fingers across her forehead and said 'I like your hair'. Well that's what they say I did. I don't remember shit. First time in my life I got so drunk. But if getting drink involves me grabbing shuyi's friend and making fun of their hairstyle, I'm still pretty safe.

abandoned stuff
There is something poignant about abandoned stuff left in the open. Unloved. A mere shadow of their glorious past. This site shows lots of fantastic pictures that speaks for themselves. Some amusing, some with a longing feeling of love lost.
Perhaps the most interesting one is those about Chernobyl. Remember when you watch The Simpsons and Homer always almost cause a nuclear meltdown? Well, the Russians did it way back in the 80s.

20 years later, the building and trees are still emitting radiation. The whole city is like a ghost town with things left exactly as they were 2 decades ago. Read bout it here, here and here. You can read more about it here where this dude likes to ride his bike into ground zero. Great traffic. You'll not see any person in miles.

Mystery solved
Remember I mentioned that the streets are flooded with the very expensive Chanel bags? The last straw came when I saw this little ah lian swinging her 'Chanel' bag at the kopitiam near my place.
While shopping in Central, I have finally solved the mystery!
Shuyi seemed very interested.

Friday night walk walk
Friday night and shuyi is in town. Let's go! First of all, equipment check!
on budget but not lacking in style
skinny man trying to dress up
the navy blue matches the collar totally
tree snake belt
I'm particular pleased with the *ahem* Hermès scarf shuyi used as a belt. So chic.

all we got for the day was this $4.50 belt from leather ark.
We were lured into O'briens due to the 50% off cake offer. The cheese on the blueberry cheese cake felt like rubber. Unbelievable. Even at 50% off it cannot be justified. argh
Earth Hour
My question is why put it on a Saturday night?! How about 27th Mar 5pm? Hmmmm? Read about it here.
But after all is said and done, it is a really nice advertising campaign. Way to go!
the kaiser and his toys
First there was the bear, now we have the doll.
Man I love the kaiser. The bear is still cooler though.

why stop motion when you can...
... just take a normal one.
Here is a 'flim' made using the 'stop motion' method. 4500 photos used. Basically you take a shit load of pics and link them together. The trend start long ago when some dude decided to take a picture of himself every single day for a few years and link them all up to form a short clip.
Nifty idea.
I don't like the film above. It is nicely made and all but it is missing the essence of 'stop motion'. It looks like a freaking motion picture. Do me a favor. Remember the camera you used to take the 4500 photos? Well, if you simply TURN THE FRIGGIN KNOB on top, you can easily take a video. If that's your thang.

Go on, do a youtube search and you'll be flooded with some nice stop motion films and MTVs. Some are very nice and creative.
Here is a +ve demo. That's how this technique should be used!

Boat Shoes
They are back. Remember that recently I got my hands on a pair of sperry's (da original) for myself and shuyi? I won't say that I predicted the trend but it is coming. You might laugh about it and say that boat shoes are uncle shoes. Look whos laughing when you see everyone wearing them in a few months time. With every brand coming out with their version of these boat shoes, you know that they will be everywhere.

good times
My mom handed me some supplies in a paper bag. I thought that the red paper bag is a bak kua bag we're all so familiar with. Upon closer inspection, ok la no need to inspect, it dawned on me that this is the bag from back then.
'via' means road, street, route etc. Firenze means Florence. So if we link it together, what do we get? hmmmm?
Do you see the sign on the glass? People, do you remember what I said 'saldi' means?
the shining oasis in the piazza
here is the paper bag posing with shuyi

While shuyi went back to Italy a couple of times since then, I look forward to going to new places with her in the future. No more italy I suppose as we did quite a thorough tour of italy. Damn I don't remember she threw a larger coin in the Trevi Fountain back then.
