auntie around the world: zurich

Shuyi left her stuff in Zurich the last time. So we went back to grab 'em.

In a bid to save money, she agreed with me that snow capped mountains all look the same. No need to go to another one.

But her batchmate wanted to go to Rhine falls and shuyi have one part of it uncovered (that's her excuse) so back she went.

the traffic sign proposed. shuyi was overjoyed. yes yes! i do!

so easy to be romantic in places like this. i mean you just pick flowers off the road.

Rhine Falls: misty

she really love them waterfalls

sakura blooms? as far as i know, if it ain't in japan, it is no sakura!

now thats a +ve little boat

she loves the little cottages. i agree.

is that a moon bear with long legs? that's no dog fo sho

random pict

MUJI is funny

If you come here often, you realise that shuyi and me loves muji.

The cooler clothing/lifestyle equivalent of Ikea. All the clean finished pine, aluminum and plastic stuff.

Their affinity to cotton knits and other organic stuff. Their uncanny ability to make even nylon cool. But we know who won the nylon category... C'mon... $200 for a nylon bag. Biggest winner ever.

And, if you pay enough attention, we never buy stuff from muji. Unless they're on sale. That is when you need to drop all inhibition and go get it. If you think that muji is cheaper in Japan, it's not. Unless the yen depreciates significantly, like a few months ago.

Oh and this is what we saw the last time we were there.

Top notch management. Fear rules all.

did you messy it? did you? hmmm? i want starrbiak!

have you seen her?
were you scared?

tonight is mexican night

just throw the stereotypical mexican stuff together. We talking guacamole and salsa baby! Tortillas and so expensive. We go pita bread instead.

Audi fuel efficient

Ad campaign that shows you how fuel efficient the new Audi is. But fuel efficient continental cars to me are like...

... a girl who announces that she have enough shoes.

It just doesn't happen.

But still, the ad is nice though.

In the local context, I feel that the ad have missed the mark. People don't go for the audi because they want fuel efficient cars. They want an audi because Merc feels too uncle, BMW are too common, they don't wanna be too special and go Alpha Romeo but still want an expensive continental car. Maybe the ad should go something like this...

Zouk. Audi drives by and leaves. Everyone stopped. And water marks emerges on everybody's crotch. Then it turns to a blank page that says 'awesome'.

Winner!

say no to child abuse. say yes to creativity

An ad campaign against child abuse. Brilliant.

Some of the mannequins were removed later to reveal a message that says 'Thank you for noticing me'.

ok very funny. Alex, you can get me out now. Alex?

The only way to up this campaign is to use real kids instead of mannequins. But that will raise some serious issues. Good luck for your application too. Maybe in places like pakistan.

If that happens, the message can go 'out for lunch. be back soon'

learn how to deliver babies on youtube

Learning stuff on youtube. sure. This dude already learnt how to play the guitar and master the Rubik cube. But delivering babies?

Feeling nervous about the imminent birth of his child Marc Stephens had a look at childbirth videos on his home computer.

Four hours later his wife, Jo, went into labour three weeks earlier than expected and, as paramedics rushed to help, Stephens was able to put his new-found knowledge into action and helped deliver 5lb 5oz Gabriele
