Project 'make her' Runaway
I've always wanted to watch Project Runway as I am a closet fashion lover. I am currently starting from season 1. It was quite fun but they really should mosaic or censor Heidi Klum: she is trying so hard to make stupid dialogue sounds smart. argh

That Handbag
I was in Raffles Place this morning when I noticed something: all the handbags (if they are real) swinging around me are really expensive! I am the sissy guy who actually knows a thing or two about IT bags (thanks to Urban every Thursday). And being the odd guy who dresses my girlfriend, I pay attention and admire branded handbags.
I've always wanted to get one for Shuyi. Perhaps a simple Speedy? Small and cute. I've even reached the point where I decided to just go to Taka and just get one for her. I've set myself a limit and fortunately, I've yet to hit that limit where I spend $1-2k on a handbag for Shuyi. Sandy's never-repeating list of Dior bags don't help to curb the impulsiveness.
Then there are others as well... how bout a Coach Hobo? Fendi Spybag? Dior? Gucci? Prada? Kate Spate? Bottega? Chanel 2.55? Of all the above, I'd say the 2.55 is the most iconic and definitely a must get.

But the recent spending on marriage and housing means that any wild handbag spurges will have to wait for years. The next question will of course be, is it worth it?
If we go at it in a logical manner, hell no! Hello! Your LV is only like 10% leather and the rest is canvas. How do you justify the $1k plus onwards price? I can get a sofa set with that kinda money (since I'm talking about renovations). But I understand handbags (least I think I do). I can understand why the girls go krazi over them. I love it as well and it isn't even for me!
People try to justify it by saying that the quality is superb and it last super long. The quality is no doubt good but with that kinda money, you can get a lifetime supple of lesser quality ones. Let's face it: you are buying a lifestyle. The glamorous and cool feeling you associate it with. The same lifestyle those company paid millions to insert ads into your magazines to build. For many, that kimochi is very gratifying and worth every penny.
Some say it looks great and it is very stylish. But how stylish can it get when the entire street is filled with em? There is a recent influx of Gucci totes everywhere these days. I have no idea weather they are real of fake (maybe people in the know can differentiate). So, get this... you pay top bucks to look like the masses. Whatever happened to individual style and that rebellious spirit you had when you were young? Tell you wear school shoe you want to wear track shoe. Now let you wear track shoe, you go buy US Master canvas shoe.
Are you going into a destructive arms war where you try to out-glam the girl next to you on the MRT? The fact that you are on an MRT means that you shouldn't be getting the 2k handbag in the first place!
I'm gonna get Shuyi some nice vintage handbags and clutches that will stand out and match her outfits. I'll get that 2.55 someday though. I swear!

Shuyi loves her auntie thiam. Working in what could be the most happening auntie central in Singapore brings an uncontrollable smile on Shuyi's face.

Mr propaganda!
This is the MTV by Mr Children that many organizations use to motivate(psycho) people and get them emotionally hyped up. Encountered it once at this lameass MLM gathering. For all it is worth, it is a fantastic MTV because:
1. You really get touched and emotional (i know i did)
2. The song wasn't particularly good
3. There is no boobies. Just a few old men
4. You don't understand Japanese
But still you feel something in the 5.5mins. Bravo!
sneak pic!
Not THAT kind of sneak pic you perv! These are some of the pre-wedding shots ma homie Ian took for us. Can see em here.

Dad's 60th
It is dad's 60th birthday. Being the youngest son, as usual, I did nothing. We had a buffet and everyone came over for lunch. It is during times like this when you can appreciate the big house.

foto shoot!
We went for a full day of photo taking with Ian today. the day started really bad with as it started to pour in the late morning. The rain did not stop till late afternoon but we went for it anyway. We happen to pass by Singapore Art Museum and decided to go there for a few shots. It was really quite a spur of the moment kinda thing.
We fully made use of the place (without paying!) and the 2 other couples doing their wedding shots (as backdrop). Quite a productive shoot.
Had the superb ah lian wanton mee and decided on Haji Lane after some discussion. Haji Lane was not as productive as we would have hoped but it was still alright. It grew dark and we drove to our last location for the day.
I was hoping we can sneak some picts at the Grand Shanghai. That place is exceptional. The decor was very classy and the singer on the little wooden stage was a class act. What a performer! We walked along the river and took some picts along the way.
We ended the night with fish steamboat and chilled pork jelly at Balastier. Fucking good. What a day!

Relax@work
With validation out of the way, all that is left is to relax. Here is the mass celebration of 4 of our batchmate's birthday.
Shiyi & Baby
Shuyi loves anything that is smaller and powerless against her. Take for example babies and little animals. Here is a fine example:
