Validation
Today was the validation for my training. So we're supposed to role play a full advisory process. Ignoring the fact that we are taking a video camera to a room named Edison with a bunch of girls, it is actually quite a serious event.
The validation went by without a hitch and I met up with Shuyi for some window shopping after work.

Hiroshima
From the shop where I got Shuyi her new purse, check this out:
Nice huh? It is quite a lot cheaper in Hong Kong though.

kio sai!
Imagine another day of boring (and tiring) training. Then being informed that you need to attend another training after a full day of training.
woopee.
The fund training was at Capital Towers, in the exact auditorium that I used to attend fund house launches months ago. The catered food was good as usual. Too bad we arrived late and had little time for that.
Pretty much slept through the training as I was tired and this particular product is very similar to the one back then... Then towards the end, they announce that they are giving away 8 pairs of Singapore Flyer tickets if we answer the questions.
Great. I sleep all the way how to answer. The first 4 pairs was given away very quickly. When the 5th pair came along, I just shot up my arms and went for it. Got 2 out of the 3 questions and I joked my way out of the last one.
Shuyi was thrilled (like whenever she get any freebies) when I met her at Tanjong Pagar. Oh and I met Lau and his gf Kelly along the way too.
woopee.

Good day shopping
Well you know about cutting our expenses due to the renovations, wedding, change of job etc. But Shuyi is seriously in need for work clothes. So... here we go!

A shirt dress (or is it a trench coat inspired dress?) from Domanchi at 70% discount. And a 30% discounted heel from Pazzion. Good deals! The heel was kinda small on one side (should say Shuyi's foot is bigger on one side) and the kind shop assistant helped us to expand it like 3-4 times. Fantastic service!

After watching his performance at the 5oth Grammys, my respect for this super lau lan rapper increased. No rapper in the scene today can stand up to this man.

Valentine's Day
Our 9th V.day together is kinda interesting. I watch her do her very first manicure in her life, ate at Subway and sent her home. After that many years together, you tend not to plan so much for something as small as V.day. Especially when both of us are undergoing a transition phase of our career which limit our sleep time to about 3 hours every night. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the fire is gone. But I'll put it as being really comfortable with each other and see no need to spurge on the one day that you shouldn't.
We met up at Far East Plaza where she did her manicure. She came with 2 of her colleagues with what I later described as 'final boss' make up. It was super heavy and I guess her dark complexion requires her to smack on more than others.
After an hour plus of frantic buying of make up and hair products, the girls went for the manicure. That $20 must be the hardest one for the manicurist EVER as Shuyi has never taken care of her nails all her life. Watching her doing her manicure with the 'final boss' make up on was kinda sublime. She suddenly did not look like the lady I spent 9 years with.
Anyway, after her friends left, we went to Subway for a light dinner. As her nails are not fully dry, I had to feed her and open up the box containing her Valentine gift for her.

Her purse, which she used for like 5-6 years was badly worn and while we try to be more thrifty and spend less these days, I got her a new one. This is a leather purse from the brand Hiroshima which has a shop in Marina Square. I though that it is a new brand to Singapore but the shop assistant informed me that this brand has actually been in Singapore for around 10 years but located in more ulu spots. The purse is very nice indeed but the workmanship is of course no Bottega Veneta where every individual strip of leather was oiled and blessed by monks from 27 religions. In fact it is not even as good as in the picture taken from the website. But the little frills here and there will be worn out and hopefully, the purse will get some nice patina with use.
The brand is kinda interesting. I asked the shop assistant if all the products are made in China. She was quick to correct me that they were all made in Japan. For that price and material, I have my doubts. She added that this brand is hot with OLs(which are a hot bunch as well) in Hong Kong. Though the quality is not shabby and the product pretty good, the range pretty much looks like a Gucci (for the document bags) and Bottega leather weave bags. But end of the day, Shuyi loved the purse I got her.
Shuyi did not get anything for me as she is never sure of what I want. And for most of the time, I don't. But I always have things that I want to get for Shuyi. I kinda enjoy getting her new stuff. I rushed home after sending her home to prepare for my test the next day. What a short V.day!
